Miss Utah's Outstanding Teen part 1

After a crown is placed on your head you move on to a higher level. This higher level is called Miss Utah's outstanding teen or MUOT. 23 of Utah's finest young women compete for scholarship money and the experience of a lifetime, to be crowned as MUOT. All 23 of us arrived at 8 a.m. at the covey center for the arts in Provo. We settled our stuff and were then told to sit in the audience. Excitement started to fill me as I watched the stage become different colors and new girls came to sit in the audience also. Wanting to become well aquainted with everyone, I started getting to know names and faces quickly. After awhile our director Amy came to talk to us. She got our energy going, because it was 8 in the morning, and also told us how excited she was for us and how great of an experience it was going to be. She could not have been more right. We immediately started our 10 minutes on stage to practice our talent. I laughed as one by one each girl came on and went off. How could I compete with all that talent?

Around 12:30 my name was called for me to do interview. I walked in and saw five smiley faces looking at me. oh and FYI it was kind of a coincidence that I chose number 13 and #13 was to have her interview right after lunch, could not be more happy with that turn out. Anyway back to my interview. About five seconds after I was in there they started asking questions about me and my platform. Questions like: What motivates you, what words do you think describes what MUOT should be, (thanks to Staci I knew how to answer those perfectly), what is your dream vacation, is it hard not having a cellphone, did you like mockingjay, which book for the hunger games series did you like the most, what was one thing you learned while in Mexico....and so on
Before I knew it my ten minutes were up. Leaving the room I felt accomplished.
