Tuacahn. A magical place full ofcats, apes, and people. Well at least this year.
My madre and I were able to go see Cats and Tarzan June 8-9. We went mostly to see my amazingly talented cousin Zach and my aunt and uncle. Well we got more than what was expected.
I feel the need to give my opinion of both shows.
Verdict number uno: Cats-Costumes and make-up were spectacular! As was the dancing and talent. Didn't really follow to much of what was happening until after the show at Denny's where Zach told us all the background information. Oh I must add that Zach (munkustrap) is the narrator in the play. Well i suppose that if he is the narrator he should be telling us the background so that we can understand the play instead of sitting there with dead brains.
Before the show we were told to cheer really hard for Zach after a ball. We were told a ball like a rubber round object. Well as the show went on we saw no big ball that had any hard work but into it. During I dance I turned to my mom and said "I think this is the ball they were talking about". Sure enough I was correct. I feel bad not cheering, seeming that it was a hard and long dance.
My favorite part of the play was when "they launched her (that one lady that was having one of those days) into the sun" (sorry inside joke. jewish women) They thought cats was about monkeys. Yeah.... Well the truth is, that it is about Cats hence the title. and it was not a sun they launched her into in fact it was pure space and maybe even the next life.
So full review-make sure you read all that you can before you see it or just ask Zach.
Verdict number dos: Tarzan-He is a hottie!!! and he wears a loin cloth. And has nice abs...sorry girl moment. oh yeah and they kiss... a lot... at the end. I dont blame them
Scenery, actors, aps, sound effects, makeup, costumes. Awesome! At the beginning they flood the stage. Now tell me thats not cool. Also the flying and bungying was wicked!
Little Tazan was so cute. And I saw him in secret garden last year in cedar city. He was a cutie!
Zach did amazing as the jaguar. Couldnt even tell it was him with his costume and amazing movement. After the show he was dressed as an ape but people still came up to him and asked him if he played the jaguar. How could they tell?!? It was beyond weird to me.
Overall-I liked Tarzan much more. However Cats was good too. I suggest you see both. Well thats if you get the chance.
